Dental Imaging / OPG

A complete picture of your teeth and jaws — in seconds

An OPG (orthopantomogram) is a single panoramic X-ray that captures all your teeth, both jaws and the jaw joints in one sweep. Dentists, orthodontists and oral surgeons use it for wisdom teeth, implants, orthodontics and general dental assessment.

It is quick, low-dose, and needs no preparation — walk in any time during business hours with your referral.

What to expect

  • You stand at the machine and rest your chin on a small support, gently biting a positioning tab.
  • The camera rotates around your head in about 15 seconds — nothing touches you.
  • Glasses, jewellery, hearing aids and removable dental work come off briefly for a clear picture.
  • The whole visit usually takes about five minutes.

Types we offer

  • OPG (panoramic) — all teeth, both jaws and the jaw joints in a single image.
  • TMJ views — the jaw joints, open and closed, when requested.

Common questions

Can my dentist refer me here?
Yes — dentists, orthodontists and oral surgeons can all refer for dental imaging, and Medicare rebates can apply to eligible referrals.
How much radiation is involved?
An OPG uses a very low dose — considerably less than many other X-ray examinations — and our equipment keeps it as low as practical.
Do children need anything special?
No — the scan is quick and painless. A parent can stay in the room while the picture is set up.
Do I need an appointment?
No. Dental imaging is walk-in during business hours.
