Benchmark Radiology (“we”, “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. We handle personal and health information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles, and Victorian health-records law. This page explains what we collect, why, and how we look after it.
To arrange and perform your imaging, report results to your referring practitioner, claim Medicare benefits where applicable, communicate with you, and meet our legal and professional obligations.
Your information is stored in Australia on secured systems, protected by encryption, access controls and staff confidentiality obligations. Online form submissions are handled by a secured mailbox and actioned by our staff, then archived or securely disposed of in line with our retention obligations.
We share your information with your referring doctor, and, where relevant, with Medicare/Services Australia and other health professionals involved in your care. We do not disclose your information overseas as a matter of course. We may disclose information where required or authorised by law.
You may request access to, or correction of, your personal information by contacting us. If you have a concern about how we have handled your information, please contact us first; you may also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
We do not use advertising cookies. If we switch on website analytics, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, how visitors use the site (for example, which pages are viewed and how people found us). It runs only if you choose Accept in the cookie banner; if you choose No thanks, it is not loaded. Google Analytics uses cookies and receives your IP address and device details, and this information may be processed by Google outside Australia, including in the United States. We do not use it to identify you, and we never send it anything you type into our forms. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of each page, or by clearing the cookies in your browser.
Our pages also load typefaces from Google Fonts, which receives your device’s IP address but does not set cookies. The site stores a few small settings in your own browser (for example, that you have already seen the welcome message); these do not leave your device.
By submitting an online form you consent to us collecting and using the information for the purpose of arranging your imaging or processing your referral, as described above.
